  • Hi Marie Ange

    Sx

  • Yes these are very special!
  • These are treasures...wonderful
  • From the borders of morocco and Algeria
  • Enamel, coral, niello -- is there repousse work as well on these beauties?

  • Really masterpieces i cant praise them enough..the summum of north african jewelry...

This anklets belongs to mister THAU whose collection was largely published in the famous two volume books of "bijoux du maroc" by Rabate and Rosenberg.

This collection was auctioned at christies in paris in 2007 at really incredible prices...this anklet sell for more than 8000 euros hammer price!!!

But top price was 30000 euros fetches by an extraordinary ait ouaouzguit worm hole fibula pair with chain...sublime
  • I wish I found someday a pair like that at an affordable price. Waky, waky, Jose, stop dreaming.

  • @JOSE

Dont ever stop dreaming, our passion is all about dreams....i remember myself 12 years ago when i bought my first silver ring, i was overwhelmed but i ought not to be, matter of fact it was fake and was sold to me as an old scarce stuff!!!

I did not stop dreaming even after i was tricked many times, nor did i stop dreaming when i was not allowed to enter antique shops because of my young age and apparent lack of money (so they thought), nor did i stop dreaming when some museum pieces were auctionned before my eyes at incredible prices......i had never stopped dreaming, always dreaming about the marvel silver shiny little something i could stumble unto in some dark dusty trunk or liyng on the table of some obscur flea market sellers.....

When you dont have those incredible sums of money, take your time and bring enough patience, buy books and learn, get seated by connoisseurs and play the student.....and one day your dream would come true....

To all dear forum members if there is something you should learn from all these jewels is NEVER STOP DREAMING

  • @Chantal
