I have visited today the Souk Al-Zall in Riyadh. The area is for the time being a bit difficult to access as the construction of the Riyadh metro is ongoing there and many other places in Riyadh. The souk is next to the old town, which is in shambles and the buildings are pretty much destroyed - a real pitty. I really hope that the government will renovate the old town, which is very picturesque and could be a real attraction!There were a few shops, which had Saudi jewelry. To my good luck, they were rather cool while the outside temperature goes now easily above 40 degrees Celsius.However, it takes a lot of patience as the items are scattered around. I only bought one bracelet but two fantastic, unusual, large armlets, which I have never seen before, and other Saudi items.... However, there were so many bracelets laying in showcases, on trays, shelves, etc... I could simple not find any pairs. I am sure that the seller has many pairs inside the chaos. So, I agreed with the seller, an older gentleman, that I would return after Ramadan and he would by then sort out the bracelets and have some pairs arranged for me - another friend has been made!All in all it was a good day in Riyadh....
