  Have you ever found those really big plated rings's Rihanas? i ma talking about the early stuff that you can see sometimes on old postacards worn by jewish ladies

  Hi Ayis...A lot of new rihanas are still being made, and are still popular necklaces here in Tunis.   The latest trend is large rihana links with stamped patterns.  I have seen plenty of used or "vintage" examples of rihanas, but I'm not sure how you tell them apart from the truly antique examples.  Can you give me any pointers?  I haven't yet purchased a rihana.   If you are planning a trip to Tunis, I can direct you to a few dealers who may have what you are looking for.

  Nice old photo!  The largest rings on the rihana that I have seen are about (I'm guessing from memory) 5 or 6 cm dia...perhaps the ones in the old photo are a bit larger.  I don't think any of the ones I have seen are of great age, but there may be some floating around.  I will certainly keep my eyes open!
