Posed in "costume"? I find the back ground very curious. Not that this is the case, but I do recall that there is a section in the old medina well known for prostitution in Sefrou.

and yes the decor is surreal!
Luda and I went into a strange building in Ouarzazate called a club one lunchtime the decor there was akin to chocolate coloured dribbled in stalatite proportions....it had a nightmare..ish quality!
The dress is definetely jewish from either fes, sefrou.
The lack of very fine details and embroideries (silver or gold threads) makes it more rural than urban so one can eliminate fes.
The decor reminds me of these old riads wich were transformed following the taste of jewish merchants who were very early in contact with europe.
The tiles are spanish, but were adopted very widely in morocco, my grandparents house used to be tiled with the same until the nineties.
Marble on the walls is distinctive of rich abd cosmopolitan houses at that time.
Should very well be Tetuan
The skirt for me is also not a style I would associate with urban environs, still my instinct says Tetouan rather than Sefrou, but I may be mistaken as instinct alone makes the assumption a little wobbly!!
I find the glass in her hand a little strange for a portrait too
Maybe the glass she is holding is filled with spring water from Sidi Harazem and the pic is indeed from Sefrou!!
