SAMBURU COLLAR

These Samburu beaded collars were traditionally given to Samburu women upon marriage. SAME collars were also worn by the Rendile women. When elephants were plentiful in the northern desert areas of Kenya, these collars were made of elephant hair instead of palm fibers.

    Thanks for letting me know.  I have not had a client for one in a while but will let you know if anyone I know is looking for one. How old do you think these are any idea? when were they collected?
