  • I like this piece - it is the first buckle I bought. It is incomplete, but still lovely - and it has some hallmarks too tiny to see.

    It is often hard to tell how "good" a piece is as there are no books dedicated to buckles alone. Am I right in thinking that there would be a full range of patterning based on the skill of the makers? Are some of the patterns copied and replicated, or do the makers start creating their own designs.
