  • handmade lampwork glass beads

  • Actually, I believe these are faux/fake glass carnelian beads.  See the recent listing on Ebay (251445642087).  There were made in Bohemia, Germany probably in the late 1800s / early 1900s.   You can google under "faux carnelian african beads" and will see many imagines to compare your necklace to.  Hope this helps.  Lynne

  • Hi lynne, spot on ! Sx
  • OKY. THANX

  • Hi Sarah, thanks.  I want to say thank you for all of your wonderful projects, publications, online sites, etc. you have out there, particularly right now.  I found out in early Feb that I had to have aortic valve replacement due to calcification on mine from radiation therapy I had in 1977.  I went in for the 1st part (just a coronary catheterization) on 2/20th, and then had the big surgery the following morning.  The cardiac surgeon here at NYU Hospital, had hoped to do a less invasive heart procedure, rather than the traditional open heart, but unfortunately things could not be done that way, so although they didn't have to do the full 8-10 inch incision or break my ribs (just my breast bone), I did end up with a much harsher surgery than expected.  Just got home after 16 days in the hospital, rather than the hoped for 4-5.  My friend had told me to prepare a little nest on my bed for my recovery, which I kind of did by doing way too much collecting just before I went in :), so that my packages arrived while I was away.  But, it was a horrible terrible painful, emotional, journey so far & I haven't even been able to open things up.  I have been able to go onto your sites, read your newest articles and have so much of what YOU"VE started for us get me through the past 3 days.  Thank you so much for that.  I don't know how or where you find the time to do all of this as well as your trips to Morocco and everything else.  But, please do know the peace and temporary lapses in pain that you have allowed me, because otherwise I don't know that I would have made it.  I am finally beginning to turn a corner here & there, although miniscule, but to even feel some progress is so paramount.  Thank you Sarah...so very much.  Blessings, lynne
