These were used for storing honey and butter. Some people in distant places, in mountains and high Atlass, still use them. I still remember that in the ploughing season, the ploughed fields used to be full of fragments and sometimes complete halves of Timkilin; you walk through the fields and you see wonderfull colors. Nowadays, all what you see there is sardine cans and broken bottles-what a pity!

beautiful, lovely in colors, pattern and so well preserved. Is the lid the whole top part or just the knob?

Really such a perfect work, I am amazed. The top has a different pattern and color, is this always the case? Thanks for showing.

The knob is past of the lid; i mean they are one though it has a different color. Many of them have different colors because it is the place where you put your hand when you want to uncover it, so that, i suppose, with overuse it wont lose the color. So they use grey, brown or black colors in the place.
