Old genuine mauritanian necklace made with a Morfia flanked by a large garnet and a natural coral beads separated by small glass spacers. Stringed tiny coconut heishi beads and a simple clasp made with a blue glass bead completed the necklace. The morfia looks very weared but full of character and a lovely patina. It has waves of yellow, red, green and grey colours. The perforation is filled (see pictures) with a plastic insert to made it smaller. The necklace mantains the original stringing and traditional beads situation. For further information about these kind of mauritanian necklaces see M. F. Delarozière, Perles d’Afrique, pages 199-200.Weared. Good condition.Highly collectible.Length: 38 cm. / 15 inches.Morfia measures: 17 x 17,7 mm.Price: $ 295
