Necklace (‘acar bac’), Yomud-Turkmen, Turkmenistan, ca. early 20th century. Silver plate, soldered on silver fire gilded plates, glass pearls. Length: 45 cm. (Inv.n° müç106 - Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).(SOLD to the ‘Etnografisch Museum, Antwerpen’).

  • This is a very fine specimen, Jean Marie. I have a similar one but with very worn carnelians instead of glass and without the fringe of dangles at the front. The box should contain important papers even though it is sealed.
