  • I have seen several of those and they seem to be bracelets.

If I remember  well they are from Mali.

  • Fogot to add the sizes!larger ringouter diameter at the widest point..68mm inner 56 mm

smaller ring with stone inner diameter 47mm outer diameter 57mm

  • Hi Sarah,

I recently bought the same . Described as brass and silver Berber temple decorations, Ida Ou Semlal (Tafraout and Tiznit region.....). Will post mine if you like.

  • chantal. i was not not wrong when i wrote you like mystery items. as soon as sarah added something with mystery , you are in a second there :-)

i see them as earings. verry old, brass and silver ??  south smith technik with traditional tools. i guess that the holes are for a pendant that is missing,it is normal for the age.

    i like a lot

  • Ait, you are so very right, I do like a mystery item (and then cracking the provenance i.e. "finding").

In that instance I believe that my seller is very reliable and knowledgeable  that's why I mentioned it (i know nothing myself).

  • chantal. i just read what you wrote. temple it it is the same as in french templ, is possible. there ir some jewelry by the berber kaby and moor, in tunisia and lybia too temporal and sometimes with a chain and khamssas. maybe the holes are for chaine. i saw almost the same as earings too

  • Because of their size people sometimes sell them as bracelet. I saw an ebay seller selling them as bracelet.

  • I think Temporals is correct, these are in my opinion from pre 1900 maybe even mid 1800s

I love the honest wear of ages!

I also believe that they were originally joined.

Thank you all for your insights .

    Sharing is always such fun!

    Sx
