Mystery in the Bead Room

I found these in a bag with a note from my Mom that said :" Check the metal on these I don't know why they are so heavy." I have not checked the metal yet, but what I'd really like to know is where they are from. Their luster made me think " New Nepal", but when I took them out of the bag and gave them a good look I didn't know what to think. They are gorgeous and they seem to have nice wear to them. They are heavy at almost 4 grams each @ 9.5 mm. The photos have been magnified, they are not nearly impressive from a distance. Someone I respect on another forum said maybe Oman? Thanks for any info.

  • Check to see if the wear patterns are all the same, if so, they are probably cast from an original, hence why they are so heavy.  This would most likely denote newer beads.  Not Oman for sure.
