  beautiful and very special! The cone one is very exotic, and the lower one with the pendants is my favourite. Must look gorgeous being worn.

  thanks for the additional picture, which is a fantastic one. I have seen a similar picture somewhere, some time ago, but did not know (or not remember) that they are worn together. Looks overwhelming.

  Very lovely, I am not a fan of the cones--but i love the silver embellishment which encircles the middle cone-- looks very old and precious.

  Thanx Patti, you know what???! i did remember you when i first saw this headress and your famous find and conclusion about the red dots that one could find sometimes on old silver jewelry from south morocco....the cones have got many dotted on them and the headress was obviously a dowry gift!!

  Well, you know I love the red dots! I hope what I was told about them was accurate! The seem to be applied to pieces from the anti atlas region and are sometimes in conjunction with black dots ( or maybe indigo dots) I recently bought a pendant piece from faqrun with the red and black dots and he indicated that they were for embellishment --didn't mention the dowry angle. But I got the information about the dowry from a very well respected dealer in Marrakech and what I loved about it was that it was not only the jewelry which had the red dots -- it was the pottery as well, he had some old plates which also had red enamel dots.I wish I could have afforded one!

  you are right Patti about the red dots on pottery, the fact is that only very old plates and jars have these red dots....the dowry therory is tempting

  Again very nice headbands. About the red dots I guess that that may explain the red spots I found in a couple of fibula I bought sometime ago. I hope that some is left after I cleaned them. I wish I had known at the time. Well that is the good thing about this forum. There is always a lot to learn!.
