A traditional festive (‘winter’) attire from the Konya province. Late-Ottoman urban fashion, end of 19th century. With an ‘üçetek’ (robe with three panels) and an ample silk ‘şalvar’ (baggy trousers). On top of these: a ‘kürk’ (fur coat) with silk velvet outside. These garments date, as well as the jewelry, from 1875-1900, or earlier. (Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).
