Large Kabyle anklets ex Linda Pastorino

Large Kabyle anklets, made entirely of high quality silver plus corals. Probably early 20th c. Intriguingly, one anklet is inscribed "magri mea", followed (with some space in between) by "Ben Akli". "Akli" probably, as a family surname, identifies more closely just where among the Kabyle the pieces were made - possibly in or for a Christian environment. These anklets are huge; as Linda has put it, a bit like "soup cans"! I have rephotographed them so as to enable more of them to be seen. Enjoy!

Glad people like them. I polished them ONLY with a silver cloth, and then they came up beautifully with a soft, creamy sheen. Not over the top. And I happened to be able to take a good sharp photo of them and to show the inside while at it. We are very happy with these, and actually live with them on a daily basis. Not for wearing, but just to look at. We are grateful to Linda for letting us have them ...

Ahum, yes, Chantal - Truus and I are the owners indeed, purchasing them from Linda. We've actuall had them for a good many months now. Many of our best pieces are from Linda. She didn't give them away to us, and neither should she. We pay fair prices, and don't expect to get things for free. Linda chooses very good pieces, and works very hard to obtain them - so we are well satisfied with what we have done!

they are absolutely fantastic, I had to come back to them and enjoy looking at the photo again! Can they be worn as bracelets or are they too big for that? Anyway, this is real art!!!

Wow, those coral chunks are jaw dropping!!

I love when one get to see the inside of these anklets and what the hammer left on them. Some kind of mystic drawings, unconsciously left where it stays hidden from stranger's eyes, as a very intimate part of the owner!

These very large anklets have already been much discussed and admired. We bought them from Linda Pastorino in comparatively recent times. I show them once again because this photograph differs quite a bit from Linda's, perhaps thus adding to people's enjoyment and insight! We love these, and live with them daily.

yes they are verry beautiful and old.it is dificult to get the same now. the filgree gives a hormony to the mass
