Traditional festive dress from Yüksekova (prov. Hakkâri), near the border with Iran. Ethnic group: Kurdish. Clothing style: 1980s. Except for the silk headgear (called ‘kôfi’), this costume is also the summer weekday dress; encountering women dressed like this, tending a few cows and calves in the midst of fresh-green pastures, is a stunning experience.
