  Congratulations, Lynn. This is gorgeous....

  I found two similar bracelets in the Bir-Collection book on p.48/9 which have some additional filigree domes and large silver granules mounted on the repousse work. Otherwise they are very similar. They are identified as "ddha" (Beni Yenni). The age of one is given as "before 1938" (the year is actually engraved on the edge of this particular piece).

  An attractive piece with a good patina.

  Like always the weak part of these bracelets/anklets are the hinge part. they almost all feature cracks of different levels.

  A rule of thumb is that when the pieces who lack enamel are older than those with enamel Also the material used for the cabs is insightful.

  Coral is older than bakelite or celluloid BUT the repouse work is a better indication especially the patterns which in your case are reminescent of the old pre french colonisation work from the coast (ottoman influenced) that slowly spilled to the interior and mountains.

  No doubt that yours is around a century old at least

  Ddah or Eddah is the usual name and is related to the adjective of roundness or circling

  Dear all, thank you so much for your kind comments.  Betty, thank you for pointing to the Bir collection, you are right the bracelet on p.48 has almost the same repousse.  Alaa, thank you for the ID!  I had no idea this cuff was that old.
