  • This is really beautiful Peter. I love it. It is very difficult to find such a complete and elegant piece nowadays. Its amazing how much work is put into this once. Similar pouches were also used for tobacco or "titin" which is the Arabic name for tobacco. Congratulations. Br

  • Dear Sami; Many thanks for your message. The dealer had another pouch, which I quite frankly liked better. It featured many roosters in different colors on it and the pearls where somehow nicer. Anyhow, my friend, who purchased the pouch together with the coin-fitted hat on my behalf, felt that this piece is nicer and chose it accordingly. I have told her to ensure that the dealer is keeping the other pouch as well for me. I must have it and agree with you that such pieces are nowadays very rare to find. I love embroideries from Palestine. So much work and love is put into them, which makes them last for years and years and survive even after the owner has passed. I treasure such pieces a lot and hope to extend to them the respect and love, which the original owner has extended to them. With kind regards. Peter

  • Thank you for the elaboration Peter. Your love and passion to Palestinian embroidery is evident from your words and expressions which I second. Like you, I also adore embroidery from Palestine and whenever I see a piece, I always think of the efforts, love, history, innovation and dedication expressed in the form of stiches.BR

  • Oh, I love this, Peter! Very beautiful work. Hope the one with the roosters will soon be yours, too. Best, Betty

  • Dear Peter. This maybe a tobacco pouch (kees tumbak) and it's very very beautiful! Congratulations as always.
