Group of Omani rings

A group of Omani rings, some of them matching pairs worn on either hand. The tear-drop shaped rings, called shahid, are worn on the index finger. Older versions are with alternate squares in silver and black, with the black effect from niello or by staining with date-palm juice. The pair of rings with the gold-washed domes and the pair to their right are Zar rings, worn for protection from an evil spirit.
