  • they are gorgeous. I wonder (I have a pair of Ethiopian earrings with the same type of closing, and These are very big), do they have such big holes in their ears to wear them? The holes in the earlobes must be huge (?). Or is there  another way or wearing them ?  The Quality of yours is very nice! (Mine are of minor material).

  • Very very lovely! I agree with Eva: it's rare to see them in such quality. Indeed, I have a hairpin in an almost identical design, also nice silver - at least the domed part. Unfortunately I only have a slightly blurry picture of it:2506029949?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

  • Dear Eva and Betty, Thank you for your for ever enthusiasme. This is also my nicest pair the chains are more refined that others I have.  And yes, Eva, these are meant for holes in the ear lobes. In the country side the holes are rather large, I suspect that they are starting our with  a cut of a knife instead of a needle. when they do not wear their earrings, they use a piece of wood to keep the hole from closing down.   Gr. Ingrid.

  • @thanks for the explanation Ingrid - always nice to learn something (about wearing a piece of wood to keep the hole from closing).  In fact, ear holes can Close if not used, it happened to someone I know (but only a small European type of hole).

I have the same type of hairpin, so with Ingrid's Picture of earrings it is quite clear to me that this is definitely a hairpin, and earrings with the same design have another type of closure, not a pin. (thanks for helping to clarify this).

  • Eva, it is a male and female pin which goes right through the hole in the ear lobe.

  • Wow, thanks, I did not know this either! It is learning time!  Thanks Ingrid, I appreciate it.

  • These are the most beautiful and refined earrings of this type that I have ever seen.  Gorgeous!!

  • Thank you Lynn, true they are refined in their kind. It are especially the links which do raise them a step higher.
