Can anyone tell what these are??

I'm cleaning out a box in my attic and have found lots of items that I didn't know I had.Most of the items were bought in Saudi Arabia in the 70's, but these don't look Saudi to me?

    Indeed eileen...these pendants are mostly libyan "houafer/salhiyate" horse shoe pendants.

    They are worn in neighbouring countries but yours should bear a shield-like hallmark which is that of Tripoli in Libya

    Wow! I wish I had a box of these in MY attic (: I have never seen so many together. Even some gold ones. Very nice.

    Wow, never seen so many together !!!! As Ayis alread explained........ Libyan Pendants. Incredible, all These ones together!

    They are also worn in necklaces called Aghaiz neslahat by women in the Siwa oasis in Egypt.  I also believe they are found in Tunisia in addition to Libya. Nice find!!
