ID please?

These have a 14 cm diameter , this is all i know of. Belt buckles? Head ornaments ? Ottoman? Caucasus?... Too many questions Tha,k you for any insight

  • I would say these are the tops to hats, Ottoman or Caucasian.  

  • Hi, Ayis. Here you are another suggestion. They may be head-discs for sewing on to the feezes of Druze boys or head-discs for Kurdish women. There are some examples of these at pages 80, 81, 85 and 86 of Johannes Kalter's The Arts and Crafts of Syria (Thames and Hudson, 1992). Some of them look quite similar to your pieces.

    I'm convinced that these are head discs ('tepelik', if they turn out to be Ottoman).  I don't think they are Anatolian: I never saw these designs, and the strongly serrated edge is unknown to me also.

    It's not much for information... but a puzzle consists in many small pieces, and this could be one of them, isn't it?  Best greetings, JM.
