It's a bit of a puzzle, Nathalie ... although I'm sure someone would recognise it. It looks quite light compared to other torques and so was perhaps worn by a young girl... and it's decorated simply. That three-part division in the decoration at the front can be seen in some pieces from Rajasthan. But that's probably not enough to identify it as coming from there. Hope someone else can be more specific.
Dear Nathalie. A beautiful torque! Have a look at photos of Pakistani torque. The shape is very similar. As Thelma rightfully mentioned, it is most probably a torque for a child and therefore, slightly different than the torques for adults. With kind regards. Peter
Thank you Thelma and Peter voor your useful comments. I was thinking the same thing. Other torques from Rajasthan weigh more..about 200 grams or more, this one only 120 grams. Also the diameter looks smaller than usual..so a torque for a child could be possible, And Peter, thank you for mentioning Pakistan, i did not think of that!
