  thanks Chantal, I love them too, just got three strands yesterday, yellow, green and blue green, couldn't afford the black ones.  Such a feeling of history in these beauties! :-)

  You know, I did not know there  were such things as black Hebrons.....(would there be the dark blue or dark greens?).I look forward to you posting them whenever you get some black strands  (soon I hope!).

  Kind of like crumb beads - while hot, the core (black) is rolled in smaller pieces of glass (grit) then marvered to a smooth surface...and wah-lah!

  I love Hebron beads, too.  I've always been fascinated by the square ones, which were available in Sudan around 15 years ago for a song.

  Does anyone have photos of Hebron beads in traditional jewelry?  I've never seen how they are worn by Sudanese or Nigerian (or other) women.
