  • Absolutely stunning museum piece, John!

Someone took great care of this belt...How old would you say it is (is it hallmarked?)

  • The maker is Georgian and date is 1904
  • WOW John this is GORGEOUS! I love the fine filigree work! With kind regards. Peter

  • Thank you peter I almost have enough original pieces to make another one.
  • Beautiful. Is this one you repaired? How would this belt be worn? around the waist? I cannot figure it out. and how are the extensions showing up. Georgian's male dresses are the long dark coats with black leather boots and a high fur hat??  I saw once a National Folkdance performance( stunning, they danced on their toes most of the time)  I imagine it to go with those clothes.??

The silver work is so beautiful and refined.

  • I posted a picture of Cossacks wearing belts. The belts are waste belts with a leather loop on the dagger that slips over buckle. This belt is all original
