Yes Linda, bought them loose as they are but they make wonderful pendants.
I think Morocco is one of the places where there still is an abundance of parts to find. it is also getting harder but I see there still are parts at least. India used to be like that but they are much more expensive now and are sold by gram and also at rates that are expensive compared to the days I was buying them. No one really wanted them much then and i was scraping up all that i could use. now every old piece is considered and weighed and is expensive.
Indian silver is very strange, they never were very expensive and over popular but now prices have gone crazy, $4.00 per gram!!
The strange thing is that even in the old days silver was always weighed. It was never the same amounts but depending quality. For example I bought alot of south Indian and that was always for me 50 R a grm when regular stuff was 6 R a grm. So I'm not sure it has changed that much since they are still weighting out from 4 dollars a gram to 10 dollars and that is about the same ratio. The rare and unusual things were always more. I think what is different is that the regular things are now seemingly expensive due to the silver weight only. My own things I price by the piece or cost and not the weight. If it's rare then it is expensive based on rarity and quality and not the weight. If it's usual thne I price it based on what i paid. I think the issue also is that not much of good or unusual quality is available over seas now so it makes the prices that much more difficult from source. It is mostly better to buy here or in Europe now by comparison.
In the past I always paid $0.50 - $1.00 per gram silver no matter what item......
How long have you shopped in India? Did you ever buy South Indian silver ? my experience was always higher no matter who had it. I have all my old price charts and the silver prices in most places that had a big range were higher for Himalyan and South Indian. Mostly Rajasthan and other regional areas stayed the same for a long time at 6 R a grm. My last trip was 12 years ago.
No have just been buying on internet always for very good prices, now will not spend such high prices for it anymore, they are ruining their own bussiness......
