  • Nice collection and photo, probable be the bridal pendant here carried by a modern girl?
  • @Hi Akkie, yes it Looks so (the photo with the girl). I also like her bracelets, I think they look like Yemeni ones, but I am not sure.

  • This beauty  is wearing a traditonal dress made of home spun cotton and hand woven by a weaver. And the beautiful embroidery also traditional. A dress from the highlanders (amhara and tigrai ladies) She is wearing a combination of and Tigrai or Eritrean KOBO necklace (set of the three sometimes) mostly in gold by the wealthier people or gold rolled on silver or on nickel.  Her cross is a Shoa cross with the set of three she should have worn the Axum cross. (the cross from Tigrai) and the bracelets are Wollo or Jimma bracelets, so very mixed really, so most probably the girl lives in Addis Ababa and  has a love for old pieces and she brings it out  most stunning.

  • Thank you Ingrid. I just found the Picture somewhere on Internet and found it interesting to see what she is wearing combined, especially around her neck. Thanks for explaining me (us) the Details. Yes, she does look rather modern, inspite of her traditional jewellery and handwoven clothes (which I had not known).
