This is a Berber piece from Essaouria in Morocco, can you find hallmarks?
The rose in the centre is he clue it is the symbol of the coastal town.

HI Becky,
The rams head is exactly what i would expect.
I use a loupe, to view the hallmark. If you rub a wet finger over the mark is it easier to see! with a loupe you may see a tiny letter M to one side of the rams head. If the M is present this is the Marrakech assay, An F is the fes assay. It is really tiny, so may be tricky to see without magnification.
I would expect the piece to bear a Marrakech mark.

I trust Sarah to get this right, Becky. It is in any case very clearly a Moroccan piece, and a VERY nice one.
