Dear Peter, this is a gorgeous purse! I love the beaded pom-poms. The two on top with the red/blue colors on either side of the purse draw string are my favorites. Purses really are objects of adornment, are they not?
Peter, another great purse. The beading is particularly exciting and skilfully done. It's amazing that it has survived in such an excellent condition for so long. I suspect the owner must have kept it carefully rather than using it :))
Dear Lynn and Thelma; Many thanks for your comments. Yes, the purses are definitely objects of adornment. The Karakachans are really special in there adornments. Their bead works are second to none and I just love the way they are mixing it with their national costumes and the silver jewelry. Beautiful and unique indeed. I am pleased to have some of their art in my collection as I believe that the bead work and silver jewelry bring the best out in each other when displayed together... I am fortunate that I have a friend who has access to such treasures and keeps on thinking of me when he finds another beauty... With kind regards. Peter
