  • Dear Peter, this is a gorgeous purse!  I love the beaded pom-poms.  The two on top with the red/blue colors on either side of the purse draw string are my favorites.  Purses really are objects of adornment, are they not?

  • Peter, another great purse. The beading is particularly exciting and skilfully done.  It's amazing that it has survived in such an excellent condition for so long. I suspect the owner must have kept it carefully rather than using it :))

  • Dear Lynn and Thelma; Many thanks for your comments. Yes, the purses are definitely objects of adornment. The Karakachans are really special in there adornments. Their bead works are second to none and I just love the way they are mixing it with their national costumes and the silver jewelry. Beautiful and unique indeed. I am pleased to have some of their art in my collection as I believe that the bead work and silver jewelry bring the best out in each other when displayed together... I am fortunate that I have a friend who has access to such treasures and keeps on thinking of me when he finds another beauty... With kind regards. Peter
