4 silver Jimma necklaces of different shapes. These are made by very skilled and dedicated silversmith, clothing seams are not seen as they have been carefully soldered away. This is also how one can differentiate good workmanship.Tradtionally these are worn across the shoulder as a sjerp in bundles of about 5 (more or less) and kept together being run through a ring.

  • I love these, they are among my favourites of Ethiopian necklaces - so simple and elegant.

The very thouhgt to be able to find and afford 5 of them makes me dizzy :-)

  • These necklaces are originally about 120cm, but before they  were brought into Addis the brokers had re-strung them shorter, with at least 1/3 bad ,nickel, beads and, so by the time you have a full length necklace it had already become rather costly.  But they are timeless. I love them and do have several in under my jewellery. I often just long with a knot laid into it. (2 strings p.e.)

  • wonderful! If I could afford 5, I would buy and wear them at once!

  • Two is enough weight!

  • I really enjoyed seeing your Pictures of Ethiopian jewellery, have not seen much of it lately (partly also my fault, as I was out of Connection), when looking at your photos I realized that I had missed it!
