  Dear Betty, you are keeping me on my toes. The bells on the Center piece are indeed , but in a smaller form as the large medallions on the special scroll box.  You know these piece is from the Argobba area.  Wollo does have them as well, but often in a bit lower silver content and the bells mostly done in nickel.  These Argobba pieces complete were already hard to find in my time, that means before 1985.  Good thing you being so alert.  Gr.   Dear Betty, so good that you are alert and keep me on my toes.  The medallions on the center piece are indeed done in the same style of the large medallion on the scroll boxbut in a much smaller form.  You know that these necklaces are from two provincces, Wollo and `Argobba. The higher silver once are mostly Argobba with the bells done in silver, the Wollo bells are mostly in nickel. They were already hard to find in good condition in the 1985.  Gr. Ingrid.

  what a stunning piece!   almost incredible!    I have seen similar ones like the center pendant alone, but never with all these other pendants in one complete necklace!  Gorgeous.

  Thank you Alaa Eddine Sagid, Good point.  They are often put up for sale especially on ebay p.e. as single pieces and often incomplete with poor bells or missing. Actually the Wollo women themselves do wear a left over pendant restrung on a sting of colored beads.  Also nothing wrong with this. It  is good if pieces are being re- used in a charming way.  But of course, for collectors this is the piece.   Gr. Ingrid.

  Of course no harm in that. Actually i find it exhilarating that more and more amateurs are attracted to loose elements and often reuse them in original creations. If we just stick to complete pieces i am afraid that the fate of all these elements would be the oven !!
