  • Congratulations Peter. This is really well kept and sparkly .. as if it has recently been cleaned. I love the leaf shapes between the bells. Interesting that the hinge is at the front. Some beautiful granulation on the collar.

  • Dear Thelma,
Many thanks for your comments. I always wash and clean my jewelry after purchase. However, as you can see, I only mildly clean it to get off the dust and give it a nice luster, keeping the patina intact. Yes, the hinge is in the front, decorated with the same rosette as can be found on the long spacers. This is a very rare find. Believe me, it is not easy to find Saudi jewelry in a good condition.... With kind regards. Peter

This is a photo of the chocker with natural day light only. The granulation can be seen better on this photo.

  • ... not only extremely rare but also extremely beautiful (though I am not sure if it is comfortable to wear). I have actually never seen such a fine piece before!

At first sight it reminded me of the Harar upper arm bracelets which are also extremely rare.

    My congratulations, Peter!

  • Dear Betty; Well, for sure you need a long, slim neck to successfully wear this beauty. Unlike its sister, which I have posted before, there is no loose back silver band, which could be enlarged if needed. This is a typical dowry jewel and hence, made for a young lady to wear. I do not believe that they can wear it for long... which is maybe the reason for its great condition. With kind regards. Peter

  • Like you said, wonderful condition. I have mostly seen them broken up.  Congratulations I love the Saudi jewelry you are collecting!

  • Dear Peter, great piece of choker, I love the robust  pendants as contrast to the lacey image of the band itself.Must look great on, with just the bells in the front. Imagine you finding it so much in tact. Congratulations. Gr. Ingrid.
