Ceremonial male headgear and scarf. Zeybek from Izmir / Turkey.

‘Kefiye oyalı ve poşulu zeybek başı’ (ceremonial male headgear and scarf of the ‘Efe’ / ‘Zeybek’). Izmir-style, with large flat (2D) oya-lace. The hat was made in our workshop; only authentic silk needle-lace (ipek iğne oyası) were used. The scarf (‘poşu’) is old: circa 1920. (Invent.nr. ba$017 - Kavak Folklor Ekibi & Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).
