Burmese amber necklace

  • One of my favorite types of necklaces and very hard to find and very expensive when found. I love the mellow color and the very modern, clean shape. I think this is from Mizoram. and it is an iconic necklace.
  • Yes, the design of these necklaces is brilliant.  The individual beads are carved with the whole in mind.  Sometimes they have aluminum and glass beads mixed in with the amber.
  • A friend of mine bought one for a pittance in Morocco a year or so ago. At the time, she thought the beads were some kind of resin or old plastic and she was pleased to see what it really was! Hers had brass beads, but Linda Pastorino has several in her pics which have the aluminum beads.
  • @ Patti.....Yes! Burmese amber lurking at the top of a mountain in Morocco....It is amazing what turns up on our adventures!!!!   Wonder what we will be posting after the next one!!
