  • The three with palm leaves motifs ' two on top and another below them'   have similar motifs that are also used in east Libya besides Egypt. I have  a small one of these bracelets, in my collection ' fairly simple in engravings' but diagnostic with the palm leaves and flowers. It is a good assortment Peter, good to have them.

  • Very beautiful, I am particularly excited about the Yemeni bangles and the bracelet from Palestine.  Please post more photos when you get them!

I understand that the similarity between the bracelets from Egypt and those from Libya is due to the jewelers who made them in Egypt being Libyan.

  • Dear Mustafa and Lynn; Many thanks for your messages. You are right Lynn, many jewelry of the Levant and other regions were manufactured in Egypt, while never worn there. In Fayoum/Egypt, for example, they have manufactured bracelets for Palestine. I have such a rather rare pair, however, could not find the photo of them on my computer. I will make new photos and post it sometime in February. We also have to consider that the Siwa oasis, where many fabulous jewelry came from, is located very close to the Libyan border and one can see the influences accordingly.
    With best regards. Peter
  • wow, so nice. Like the others wrote, I will be looking Forward to see more and detailed photos of them. They are really beautifuly anyway, I love most the one on top (which is cut on the photo a Little).

  • Dear Eva; Many thanks for your comments. I like this particular unit as well plus the one with the fishes. I will post the detailed pictures sometime in February. With kind regards and best wishes. Peter
  • Great finds, Peter. All of them!

I can't wait to see a close-up of the Palestinian bracelet with the four hinges. I have never seen such a piece before. Kind regards, Betty

  • Dear Betty; many thanks for your message. I and the dealer in Amman have never seen such a bracelet either. It is very rare. With kind regards. Peter
  • I also would love a close up of the Palestinian bracelet. Does it have a name? Where is it from?

  • I like this piece a lot, it has unusual samples
