What an utterly stunning piece, Jose?
It looks like a Palestinian turtle bracelet with birds mounted of the domes. Fascinating... surely this was a special bracelet made for a special lady...

Wow what a pecial (not practical cuff).. I do see the borders as seen on the common well known cuff of Egypts, the flat shapes of scorpions as mentioned and the birds as peacocks, because of their long tail. And the inside of fantasic smooth solid silver. It reminds me also of the Farao's period the high on the arm bracelets with the snake heads sticking out.
Yes, they are sometimes also described as scorpions. Maybe Sami or Nada can say more about this...

WOW. This is quite amazing. Is it possible the birds were added later to cover piercings in the domes? I have one of these bracelets, just about the exact pattern as this, which was soldered to fill the holes.
WOW Jose, this bracelet is stunning. I agree with the Ottoman version of using the birds. The suggestion of Lynn also makes sense. I have never seen a bracelet like this one but I find it absolutely fantastic and intriguing. Congrats Jose. Peter
The bird appliques are found in many silver wares from Egypt especially ( at least those which are the most common do have egyptian hallamrks on them and have been produced until recently...still being produced). I have had mirrors with these as well as boxes and containers and a lot of objects related to female beauty luxuries.
The bracelet is indeed of the type other forum members recalled.
I would look at the back to see how this applique was done.
The wear of such a jewel was for sure that of apparatus lady because it would have prevented a comfortable day to day use...possibly even harmful.

Jose, the bracelets you've posted of this type are magnificent. I love the spectacular fashion in which the holes were covered up. I wonder if the birds are of the same age as the bracelet or if they were later additions.
