  • Fantastic belt Peter. The  coloured  green and red makes good combinations. You have got a fabulous collection Peter.

  • I agree with Mustafa., Peter. These are wonderful, dazzling pieces. I was lucky to see a few similar pieces on my travels last year - unfortunately beyond my means. Kind regards, Betty.
  • Comment from Lucy Joulfayan-Yeghyayan Dlf on Facebook. Hi Peter, - I posted this on the page "Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment" which I run on Facebook. As close to 25,000 people like that page, and from all over the world, I of course get at times very worthwhile feedback from people living in or near a place where a piece has been made. On this belt the viewer mentioned reported (I leave the spelling etc untouched, but the meaning is clear, and is very encouraging: " Yes, this is typical Armenian belt from the 17 a18 centuries... And used by the clergy as part of the ceremonial outfits, ( during Mass ). The museums of the Holy Sea of Etchmiadzin and the National state gallery of Armenia in Yerevan along with the Holy Sea of Cilicia Museum and most museums of the Armenian heritage have various collections on display."

  • Dear All; Many thanks for your comments and Joost, many thanks for identifying this belt, which is much appreciated indeed. These social networks are really great! With kind regards. Peter
