Silver-gilt woman's belt buckle with filigree and enamelled floral decoration. Late-Ottoman era, 18th century, possibly from a 'Rum' (Anatolian Greek) workshop in Istanbul/Constantinopel. Influenced by the European Rococo style, which was 'hot' in the Ottoman capital's highest social circles at the time. (Benaki Museum, Athens).
