  How interesting a belt is this.

  Very unusual to have iron mixed with silver elements BUT i do like a lot.

  the buckle is similar to medieval islamic buckle from western and central asia that do often come up, sometimes with gold or silver damascene remains.

  You should look into the sach woven fabric with a textile specialist or scholar to get some more clues!

  Hey Peter. Great belt !!
  If you look in my photos I posted a belt buckle asking
  For ID but with no results.
  I think both mine and yours come from same place
  . I would locate them to Kurdish people, east Anatolia
  Iraq Syria and surrounding regions. I say so because
  I have some Kurdish Chuvals or camel bags
  And I recognize the same pattern in weaving
  With your belt. Kisses
  I m traveling and I can't attach that belt buckle

  Hi Angelo; Yes, Bahamas, why not? The last time I was in The Bahamas was at a tender age, unbelievable 35 years ago! Then, 27 years ago, I have worked in Bermuda. Well, time runs...
  I will check out the buckle, which you have posted. But yes, I have similar silver mounted belts from the Iraqi Kurdish region. Enjoy The Bahamas! Peter
