Extremely fine belt of granulated gilt surface with micro turquoise and rubies. Tumar pockets on each side with box lids. Men's belt worn by a high ranking royal in Uzbekistan. late 19th c

how funny that nobody's commented on this exceptional belt. beautiful color combination and at the same time slightly feminine due to the purple rubies in my humble opinion. @ linda: is the back totally plain?

Hi this belt is same on both sides, and was used by a man. Usually they are highly decorated like this. This would have only been used by ruling families at court.

Howah, - I did comment on this piece, as I love it greatly, and even posted it on out "EJ&A" page - but somehow here my comment seems to have disappeared! I don't understand that.
