Sorry, Ayis, I see the belt properly now. I should have looked further. This looks as though it could have been a "kept for best" belt of a family of more modest means rather than aristocracy. A really pleasing find.

Indeed Frankie, this belt is very modest compared to the richer ones but then jewelry and adornment was meant for everybody and it is very pleasing to see these along with the "elite" ones
