  • Do you have the "Bir Collection" book, Jose? There is a piece on page 279 described as Armenian (found in Iran) that looks a lot like yours. Instead of coins it has pendants with a flowery design, but the unique hinged chain looks very similar indeed.

  • I'm going to say Persia/ Iran (or Kurdistan or other minority group from that area) and this looks like a headdress-turned-necklace to me, based on the loops at the middle and flanking the middle pieces.  I think that there might have been hooks there.  Me gusta mucho!

  • Any chance of the enlargement of a coin Jose? Iranian/Pakistani script...One with a date?

  • Thank you very much for all your great input!. My first though was Levantine or Ottoman but the links of the chain and the absence of a single tughra there made my expect otherwise. Yes, Betty,  I have that book but .... I do not know where I have put it. I hope to find it soon. I will also try later today to take a closer pic of the coins although they are quite faded.

  • the coinsare definetely from the subcontinent, dating back to the mughal, delhi sultanates...from North India, Pakistan

    here is an example

But it is not a solid hint, as coins are treasured and do travel.

The chain is indeed very Levantine, persian, kurdish...But who knows!

    Just a thought!!

  • Thanks you very much. Here you have some closer pics of the coin pendants.
