An amuletic torque

An old torque with amuletic pendants. With hamsas, flowers, an amulet case, and faience. Likely Kurdish, from Iraq/Iran/Syria. I lean towards Iraq due to the little bells which are most prevalent on Iraqi pieces. In high grade silver, likely early 20th century or older. About 150 grams. I got this from Romania of all places.

  • I found a very similar necklace published in a leaflet on Saad Al-Jadir's exquisite Islamic collection.  Unfortunately the image quality is rather low but I suspect this is from his book Kunuz, another reason to purchase the book!
