    thank you ! :-)

they are really very similar ! yours is an old one, or a recent one ?

  • this is a Tuareg tchérot, I have a similar one from the Kel Eghlal in Tahoua, Niger. It seems that yours is of better silver. I enclose a picture:2505995455?profile=original

  • Very beautiful tcherot, probably vintage, not antique, but the etching is lovely and the silver looks very good.

  • I have it since about 13 years. When I bought it (from a French woman who is married to the chief of the Kel Eghlal, but she lives in France), it was new. So it is approx. 13 years old by now. The ring in the middle seems to symbolize the grave of Tin Hinan, the ancient Tuareg Queen. I fell in love with its design at first glance, I had other Tuareg tchérots before and after, but this design I have not seen again, until your photo appeared! My piece is not of high silver, but some metal mélange, and rather big. Yours looks like very good silver!

  • me too I bought it more or less 13 years ago ! :-))

Was in Paris, where was organised a Crafts Fair from Malian crafts .... loved the piece at 1st glance !
