'Beşik nazarlığı' (pendent amulet for a cradle). From northwestern Anatolia, ca. mid-20th century. To protect the baby against the evil eye. Strings with beads (glass & plastics) and late-Ottoman silver coins (+ one copper medallion) are attached to a square wooden central piece. (Private collection of Tekin Uludoğan, Balıkesir).
