  • incredible size of the beads! Wonder too, whether this is real or faux type.

  • It is fake amber ...definately. Is this in a large fixed price store?
  • non sence piece, i agree with fake

  • Absolutely, do not buy until you receive confirmation of authenticity and absolutely know the going rate per gram of fossil amber. This amber is very rare and hard to find right now and any investment in it needs to be completely verified.

  • Possibly cherry-colored bakelite?  Also, the sheer size of the piece, length, etc. suggests not original as well.  It looks as though it would hit a woman's knees.....

  • I enlarged the pic, and can confirm that this is fake Amber meade from plastic / resin it is from the souss region of southern Morocco

  • I believe it's faux amber

  • Thank you everyone.  I will forward all this information to Caren.  She and her husband do a lot of traveling and it will be good for them to be wary when it comes to amber.

  • OMG!!

The trick is still going on, those greedy merchants are up for the filthiest lies to make big dollars!!

  • It is disappointing when people aren't honest.  He wanted $15,000 for it.
