Dear Peter, This is an incredible belt - it must be rare to find such a piece. I have never seen one before... Can you tell us more about it, please? With best wishes, Betty.
Incredible belt!! Would love to know more as well..... That chatelaine like hanging parts....lovely
Dear Betty and Alaa; Many thanks for your message. I have posted another Day of Atonement belt, pictured above, before on EJ and there was quite a discussion about it. You can gladly refer to it in my photos. Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement, is the holiest of Jewish holidays, when observant Jews atone for the sins of the past year. Both of my belts seem to originate from the same source as there are some feature, such as the closing but also the stamps, which are almost identical. I assume that they have both been manufactured in The Netherlands... With kind regards. Peter
Of course! How could I forget ... old age, I suppose. Thanks very much for the reminder and the information. Best wishes, Betty
That seemed to me quite European especially the lower componants. thanx for confirming
