Beautiful! I have a similarly constructed, but differently chased pair of anklets that I bought out of an auction of jewelry originating from Yemen. I will post them soon.

This is a beautiful anklet Betty. It is very similar to the one in Ransom's book. The anklet I posted however definitely has an Egyptian hallmark and my feeling is that the designs of certain armlets and anklets across both sides of the Red Sea have similar designs. I am not versed enough to point to the origin of the design of the ends which a geometric shape that combines squares and triangles, but I've seen this in Egyptian made jewelry, Tuareg jewelry and certainly Yemeni and Omani jewelry.
Thank you Nada! Of course you are right, there are so many pieces/styles that can be found on either side of the Red Sea. I was just thinking about the Rashaida for example who wear Yemeni, Nubian and Ethiopian pieces.
