Yemen Bawsani Beads Faturan Amber with caps

A Yemen Necklace from my personal collection. Old Bawsani type filigree beads worn so long as to have acquired a lovely patina. The granulated bead caps on the faqran amber beads are not as worn, so the necklace is not all of the same vintage or the capped beads were not worn as much. The terminals are very fine and in very good condition. The piece is strung on a strong cord, but is not finished off in a jeweler's method. The chain is very handsome and the fastener is small and very nicely done. There is a fertility symbol attached to each end of the chain, showing this was meant for a bride to wear.
