Women’s belt. Part of a traditional festive costume from the Turkish Alevi villages in the northern part of the Burgas province (Bulgaria), among others Dobra Polyana village (named 'Orhan Selim' by the Turks), mid-20th century. Made of alpaka (nickel silver), a silvery-coloured alloy of 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc; mounted on leather. The costume was purchased (as a whole) in Bursa in April 1990. (Inv.nr. müç028 - Kavak Costume Collection-Antwerpen/Belgium).
